PA-CF filaments combine the toughness and wear resistance of nylon with the stiffness and light weight of carbon fiber, creating one of the highest-performing materials for functional 3D printing. They are the benchmark for mechanical components under load, brackets, mounts, technical gears, drone and automation parts, jigs and fixtures, and spare parts that must be strong and light.
These are materials for experienced users: they require high temperatures (roughly 260-300 C depending on the grade), a heated bed and, for the best results, an enclosed chamber. Carbon fiber is highly abrasive: a hardened or stainless steel nozzle is mandatory. Moisture management is essential: nylon is strongly hygroscopic and must be dried before printing and kept dry throughout the process; a damp spool produces brittle, porous parts.
In the product pages we list the nylon grade (PA6, PA12 and blends), the carbon percentage and the recommended temperatures. Intended for workshops, engineering studios and small-batch production of technical spare parts. The Strato3D team can help you choose between PA-CF, PA-GF and carbon fiber filaments based on PETG/PLA.
