In many industrial applications, a 3D-printed component must not only perform its mechanical function — it must also ensure that in the event of overheating or flame contact, it does not propagate fire. The UL94 V-0 certification is the benchmark: it indicates that the material stops burning within 10 seconds after flame removal and does not produce incandescent drips.

This collection gathers filaments with verified flame retardant certification. These are not generically "fire-resistant" materials: each product is accompanied by a datasheet with UL94 test results specific to the declared diameter and thickness, because V-0 classification also depends on the thickness of the finished part.

PETG FR (flame-retardant) is the most versatile choice: easy to print like standard PETG, it meets V-0 at 1.6 mm and is suitable for electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panel components. ABS FR adds impact resistance and has a long history in the production of components for railway and automotive interiors. PEI (Ultem) achieves V-0 at very thin thicknesses and is preferred in avionics and medical devices.

For those designing components to be installed in environments with specific fire safety regulations — EN 45545 for railway, FAR 25.853 for civil aviation, IEC 60332 for cables — the filaments in this collection are the right starting point. Verify the specific test reported in the technical data sheet against the standard for your sector.

Strato3D guarantees the availability of original manufacturer technical documentation for every flame retardant filament in its catalog. Contact us if you need full documentation for your qualification process.
