SLS Technology — Laser Sintering
SLS sinters nylon powder layer by layer without using supports: this means that closed geometries, already assembled hinges, and internal cavities can be printed, which is impossible with any other technology. The parts come out isotropic - with the same strength in every direction - and ready for functional use without structural interventions. For small and medium production runs, it is often the most economical choice per piece, thanks to nesting.
When to choose SLS
- For small and medium production runs (10–1000 pieces)
- For complex geometries, closed cavities, articulated parts already assembled
- For functional parts with isotropic mechanical strength
- For industrial spare parts and final components
- When combined chemical and mechanical resistance is required
- For hinges, snap-fits, integrated spring parts
Materials available in SLS
Standard PA12 (nylon), glass-filled PA12 for greater rigidity, bio-based PA11, TPU for flexible parts. All materials have a slightly rough and uniform surface finish, ready for dyeing in solid colors or for post-processing.
Nesting and cost per piece
The SLS print volume can contain hundreds of pieces in a single build, stacked on multiple levels. We always optimize nesting to reduce the unit cost: the more pieces you order, the less each one costs. Send us the STEP or STL file with the quantities, and we will provide you with an optimized batch quote.
