Glow in the Dark filaments store light while exposed to a light source and release it in the dark with a green, light blue or multicolour luminescence. They are the ideal choice for emergency signage, gadgets, decorations, games, cosplay and creative projects that need to stand out even without lighting. In this collection you will find PLA-based spools, the easiest to print, and PETG variants for greater mechanical and moisture resistance.
The phosphorescent charge is provided by strontium aluminate pigments, which offer a longer emission time than the older sulphur pigments. To get the best effect it is advisable to print thick walls (at least 3-4 perimeters) and to favour light pigment colours. These filaments are abrasive because of the suspended mineral particles, so a hardened steel nozzle is recommended. Typical temperatures range from 200 to 220 C for glow PLA and from 230 to 250 C for glow PETG, with the bed at 50-60 C. To charge the finished part, just expose it for a few minutes to a lamp, to sunlight or to a UV torch.
At Strato3D we select spools from reliable manufacturers with uniform pigmentation, to avoid the patchy effect typical of cheap filaments. Immediate availability and fast shipping throughout Italy.
