PETG filament is a 3D printer material with a high cost-performance ratio, that is water-resistant, chemical-resistant and has high toughness. Adding carbon fiber reinforced materials to PETG and modifying it increases its stiffness and toughness. FeaturesHigh Strength Wear Resistance Impact Resistance Chemical Resistance

Carbon fiber (CF) reinforced filaments offer the best stiffness-to-weight ratio available in FDM printing. The short fibers mixed into the polymer matrix increase the elastic modulus of the base material by 2–5 times, reducing deflection under load and improving the dimensional stability of the finished part.

Aesthetic appeal is a collateral benefit: CF material parts have a characteristic fine-textured anthracite-gray surface that evokes woven carbon fiber. For applications in motorsport, industrial design, and consumer electronics, this is both a functional and aesthetic plus.

The choice of base polymer determines the final characteristics of the part. PLA-CF is the most accessible: excellent rigidity, easy to print, ideal for structural prototypes and lightweight brackets. PETG-CF adds chemical and impact resistance. PA-CF (Nylon with carbon fiber) is the reference material for high-stress mechanical applications — transmission parts, motor mounts, robotic arms. ABS-CF retains the post-printing workability typical of ABS with a significantly higher elastic modulus.

Crucial technical note: all carbon fiber filaments are highly abrasive. They absolutely require a hardened nozzle (hardened steel, stainless steel, or ruby). The standard brass nozzle wears out quickly, contaminating the part with metallic particles and degrading printing performance. On Strato3D, you'll find both CF filaments and compatible nozzles for the main Bambu Lab, Creality, Raise33D, and Prusa models.

Use the collection filters to find the right CF filament for your base polymer, printer diameter, and installed nozzle type.
